See you at the muster station!!

I have been kind of stumped on what to say in the wake of the Concordia horror.

To NOT mention it would be insulting but what can one say??   It was avoidable – the ship was safe – human error was at fault.    Who among us is not human?   I am very thankful that my errors (of which there are many) have a much less impact on life.  And certainly my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this dreadful situation.

If there is any good that will come from this horror, it is that safety, in any shape and/or form, will be given a top priority on all sailing vessels.    If you are like me when you sail and have an attitude of total bother by the ‘muster’ drills, I hope you will join me in an about face.  I will be gladly attending those drills and hope to see you there!

Despite all the news, I am pleased to say that bookings remain strong during the peak booking Wave Season – so sincere thanks to all you loyal White Travel clients.  We continue to tweak rates and negotiate with the cruise lines to ensure we provide you with the best value possible on your cruise vacation.

While this Wave Season offers amazing offers to be taken advantage of, ( sign up for our email blasts if you are not already receiving them) be on the look out for the launch of the 7th Annual CRUISE EXTRAVAGANZA with-a-twist  (March 12-16).  

This Annual show is going Virtual this year allowing our clients located around the world to participate in full.  It is new and different AND time consuming.  The ‘plan’ is to have the site up and running by February 15.   All the information (rates & dates) will be on line BUT....   DO NOT DESPAIR,  you will still be able to call and speak with your favorite Cruise Counselor (as well as email them)

 On the Show Site you will be able to access videos, e-brochures and interesting info on each of the Cruise Line partners.     Pre-register to receive the Early Booking deals that must be booked & deposited during the first 3 days of the sale.   Rather not register - not to worry!  All the offers will be posted on the site March 9th, the Friday before the sale begins.  

Bookings will be made on a first come, first served basis so I suggest you email or call your request in ASAP AFTER we launch the site. As always space and rates are based on availability.

We are extending our PHONE hours from 9AM – 7PM (EST).  We hope this will allow you to call and speak with a Cruise Specialist  at a time a bit more convenient for you.  More details to follow so keep on the look out.

Oh, just in case you are one of the very few who have decided NOT to adhere to the new stringent safety shipboard policies – take note: On January 29, Holland America disembarked (kicked off) a passenger prior to sailing “for non-compliance with the mandatory passenger emergency drill”.

Celebrity Celebration

Last night Celebrity hosted an evening demonstrating the 'delights' of the X experience.   They offered tastings of delightful inventive drinks created by their 'Liquid Chef',  a divine chicken crepe along with a relaxing ( but all too short) massage , and gift, gifts and more gifts.....  Did I mention they gave away gifts??  The evening was heavenly, interesting and educational.  I learned (aside from the fact that I can not virtual bowl......) how exciting the new Solstice ships are going to be.  AND that they are Solsti-cising some of the other ships so they offer the new Solstice features.
